Vocabulary Quiz Answers

Last month I quizzed you all on the vocabulary words that we’ve been learning over the past few months.  Here are the answers; hope you enjoyed it!

a. Although usually considered quiet and reserved, Francine could be loquacious when she was with good friends.

b. In most stories, those who gasconade are always humbled in the end.

c. Steamed spinach, though often rejected for its flavor, is very salubrious as it is full of nutrition.

d. The cheerful Ginny Sue naturally decided to meliorate the gloomy group with a selection of merry jokes, which soon had them laughing and more upbeat.

e. My dog is not very obsequious:  when I tell him to come, he generally heads off in the other direction.

f. As a child, King David spent lots of time with laniferous animals.

 

Here’s an example of finding a word that isn’t heard much anymore and using it in a sentence! Thanks, Clair Simpson!

Ginoremous- “A very, very, very big thing!”

Sentence-“I have a ginoremous pig.”

Clemently- “With mildness of temper; mercifully.”

Sentence- “He dealt clemently with the thief.”
